Electrical Packaging Designers work with Collins engineering staff to design and develop innovative products to be used in the latest commercial and military aircraft. They are on the front lines of development for all new aerospace technology and processes.
What You Will Do
- Create Proposal Outlines and Layouts for customers
- Create Proposal Envelope Solids in customer preferred formats
- Contribute to estimating activities
- Work with product line engineering for initial 2D concept of product
- Create solid model piece parts and housings in NX
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure correct fit and alignment
- Create assemblies and layouts in NX.
- Create dimensioned detail component drawings
- Lead detailing drafters in the completion of component drawings for a design project
- Execute Collins Standard Work using Design Standard Features and Design Guide Book as appropriate to complete the task
- Perform all technical work within the Teamcenter PLM environment
- Investigate and improve, with engineering, current product design issues
- Support our customers on their high priority programs, there may be occasional need for weekend or extended hours work.
- Contribute to product and process continuous improvement activities
- Support and participate in engineering design reviews
- Support stress and thermal analyses as required and requested by engineering
- Work with Collins product definition and support groups, assist as required
- Commit to and meet program deadlines
- Status team regularly on task performance and completion
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in the design of complex assemblies or enclosures with many constituent components
- Experience with Siemens NX
- Manufacturing experience
