Job Summary:
Raytheon currently has an exciting IT position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place. We are currently seeking a Sr. Linux Systems Administrator that will be working onsite in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The Principal Systems Administrator is required to have an active secret security clearance as they will be responsible for deploying and maintaining classified IT infrastructures.
The candidate’s day-to-day activities include but are not limited to: Red Hat Linux server management; storage management; file server management; access management; data backup; software and license configuration; and workstation support. Each day in the life of a Systems Administrator can bring something new – building a new IT infrastructure for a group of engineers, restoring files due to an outage, updating virus definitions and security patches, teaming with our brilliant engineers on how to improve their processes, and more.
What You Will Do:
The selected individual should be a professional contributor who is willing to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
Troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
Install and configure hardware and OS.
This position is a 100% onsite role.
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires bachelor’s degree minimum of 2 years related experience
Must have Linux experience.
Experience in one of the following: VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
Must have active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level 2 certification or higher
Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
In-depth working experience in Windows Server
Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
Experience with using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
Experience hardening systems using tools like SCAP and following STIGs.
Experience with Enterprise Active Directory (AD) & LDAP

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
