Job Description

General Statement of Job

The Business Process and Accountability Support Specialist performs advanced administrative work and provides operational support to all core areas and functions within the department.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provide advanced administrative and business operational analysis research to the Director for Business Process and Accountability.
  • Performs a wide range of tasks and assignments to support highly technical operations of the department including, but not limited to, business operations analysis, policy, and procedure assessments.   
  • Support and facilitate the initiation and completion of projects including, but not limited to tracking, communication, planning, and follow-up.
  • Assist in performing and completing process improvement projects including, but not limited to, diagnosing process challenges, identifying gaps, reducing errors, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing action plans, testing recommendations, and executing improvement strategies.
  • Facilitate and/or monitor multiple tasks and projects. Prepare routine project summary reports/memos for leadership review.
  • Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, and graphs, to modify and/or format data and/or reports.
  • Exercise sound judgment in the referral of inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Solve problems, address concerns, and plan with great attention given to customer service, project quality, and exact detail.
  • Support key personnel in the process of data collection, analysis, and process improvement.  
  • Assist in preparing and delivering presentations.
  • Plan, develop, and organize, event functions for the Business Process and Accountability department, including meetings, and special functions, as assigned.
  • Monitor and update the Business Process and Accountability website.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least two (2) years of any combination of training and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions described is required.
  • Experience combined in business or public administration, project and change management, process improvement, or audit is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, the Windows environment, and internet research skills.
  • Proficient with ten key by touch.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and sound judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail, within stated deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player within department and with others.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed; willing to travel throughout the college district using own means of reliable transportation.
