Your Specific Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoots and resolves information technology (IT) problems over the phone (IT Help Desk Support)
• Communicates with team, Florida Department of Health in Brevard County (DOH-Brevard) staff, and others regarding IT topics, services, and/or issues.
• Uses tools such as Remote Control Viewer, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Active Directory for Windows, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Health Management System, and other network and monitoring tools.
• Enter work orders and escalate as deemed necessary.
• Acts as tier 1 and tier 2 field staff for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Monitors hardware to ensure it is properly maintained.
• Installs and implements distributed computer systems hardware, software, and communications components, including enhancements and upgrades.
• Configures operating systems software, applications software, and communications with other computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
• Facilitates warranty repair work for IT equipment.
• Conducts on-site system reviews to evaluate user compliance to system standards and procedures.
• Monitors the software and hardware used to ensure that it is meeting the needs of the users.
• Completes computer maintenance as necessary.
• Maintains inventory information technology equipment and software.
• Troubleshoots network and computer hardware and software on-site.
• Replaces, re-images, and stages new computers.
• Assists in providing support for the telephone system.
• Performs telephone maintenance and installation requests and installs new data and voice wiring.
• Completes IT-related purchase orders and communications device/service orders.
• Assists with Viera Conference Center reservations and IT support for Conference Center meetings.
• Provide audio-visual or technical support for Conference Center activities.
• Provides IT support for DOH-Brevard during community disasters.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good computer knowledge. Good customer service skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office at a technical level. Ability to type at least 35 adjusted words per minute. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
• Two or more years of experience using Microsoft Office Applications at a technical level
• Able to type at least 35 adjusted words per minute.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license. If out of state, Florida license required within 30 days of hire.
• Access to personal transportation if a county vehicle is not available.
Preferred:
• Associates degree (or higher) in Information Technology or a related field.
