Job Description:
In conjunction with other senior management, implements and monitors operational risk management policies, procedures, standards, and program with enterprise-wide impact such as Regulatory, and/or special projects for one or more departments or functions within a business group. Applies knowledge and expertise to influence business managers and peers to ensure enforcement of risk/regulatory programs, balancing business strategy with appropriate risk management controls. Communicates and interacts with regulatory agencies, external consultants, and other internal risk management groups within area of responsibility. Requires knowledge of retirement products and regulations. May manage other associates.

The Business Governance Manager will partner closely with senior management to implement and monitor operational risk framework such as Single Process Inventory (SPI), policies, procedures, and standards as well as support strategic initiatives across the Private Wealth Management, International & Institutional businesses. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can lead projects and initiatives while maintaining strong attention to detail and risk discipline. 

This role is responsible for supporting growth in the business by executing client selection governance and monitoring routines, overseeing business metrics and program analysis, as well as project support at different levels. In addition, the Business Governance Manager will be responsible for monitoring and resolving audit issues.

The position requires the incumbent to have diverse business and risk expertise, be able to think strategically, as well as perform in a proactive manner with limited supervision. The position requires the individual to build and maintain relationships with field management, control partners and work closely with other teams within the LOB.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor operational risk frameworks, processes, controls and metrics.
  • Build out and maintain the Single Process Inventory (SPI), ensuring processes are accurately documented, assess, and aligned with risk standards.
  • Manage Global Records Management (GRM) requirements in adherence with established standards.
  • Establish and enhance business controls to support adherence to business strategy across Private Wealth Management, International & Institutional businesses.
  • Identify, escalate and mitigate risks across the business.
  • Manage a portfolio of audit issues, from identification to closure.
  • Complete and/or review product risk assessments.
  • Partner with control functions to ensure regulatory and policy adherence,
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on risk and audit remediation status.
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects that advance business priorities.
  • Develop and deliver executive level presentations the convey strategy, risk posture and project status.
  • Drive execution of governance programs and workstreams, ensuring milestone and deliverable are met.

Required Qualifications:

  • Wealth Management experience a plus.
  • Prior Experience in operational risk, business governance or related disciplines.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities.
