The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $21.23 to $23.38.

This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position

The Administrative Assistant plays an important role in ensuring the Organizational Development and Support Division runs smoothly and in cooperation with the other divisions across the Judicial Branch.  This is accomplished by communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality, organizing, and maintaining records, managing resources, acting as a liaison to ensure staff are requesting approvals for supplies appropriately, and actively working to promote efficiency by providing administrative support to the division director, supervisors, staff, and others.  The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work independently with minimal guidance.

Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The position is on-site and in-person but may be eligible for a hybrid teleworking schedule following six months of employment within the role (dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch).

Position Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical and/or administrative experience

OR

Combined education and experience qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute for the experience on a year for year basis.

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license at the time of hire and the ability to obtain a County Vehicle Use permit.

Our Preferred Candidate has:

  • Experience working in the Adult Probation Department

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology.
  • The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint and editing in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Operating office equipment including, but not limited to, copier, fax, and computer terminal.
  • Communicating verbally and in writing with others to convey information effectively to include working with all staff, stakehold
