Role Summary

This position is for a greenfield facility in Lawrenceburg, TN. Under the direction of the quality manager, the assistant quality manager is to assist the quality manager as directed in managing the quality department and conformance to the Quality System within the facility. The position requires leadership ability and good people skills, the ability to communicate well and the knowledge and experience to take initiative. Must have a strong attention to details and be able to effectively take direction from an immediate supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a Quality Assurance/Control program, to comply with all customer requirements.
  • Manage/Supervise all personnel and aspects of the Quality Department.
  • Prepare and update Quality system procedures/policies as required.
  • Develop/approve gauging for new programs or gage revisions to existing programs.
  • Will act as Customer and/or Supplier liaison for quality problems/concerns.
  • Assist with sample submissions.
  • Responsible for coordination and preparation of Core Tools, i.e. Control Plans, and inspection instructions/check sheets as required. 
  • Encourage development and implementation of continuous improvement within the company.
  • Communicates customer requirement to necessary personnel.
  • Serve as “Management Representative” as required by IATF16949.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

KNOWLEDGE:

Proficient in computer skills, primarily Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point.

 

EDUCATION: 

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years experience in an automotive environment in a quality role
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
