AVL Intern - Accounting

The AVL North America's finance department in Plymouth, MI is searching for an Accounting Intern to join our team this summer.  AVL is searching for motivated candidates seeking a productive learning experience that promotes growth in a productive environment.  Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, critical thinkers with excellent time-management skills.  

 

This opportunity will work a hybrid schedule with some work onsite in Plymouth and the rest completed remote.  The predicted hours per week for this opportunity are approximately 20 hours with flexibility to increase or decrease based on work load.  This opportunity could lead to a full-time position as well and provides the ability to join AVL in the finance team with potential growth and cross training to other areas.  

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.

 

Qualifications/Skills:

• Completing a degree that is applicable to the internship role
• High School diploma
• Desire to learn
• Willingness to start at the entry/beginning phases to learn processes and functions of the department they are assigned to
• Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail

 

Roles:

Duties (can include all companies):

• High volume invoice processing
• Checking data entry for accuracy
• Detailed cost coding to multiple G/L accounts and entities
• Extensive work in Excel to calculate coding for highly detailed bills
• Check processing
• Preparing payments for mailing
• Responding to vendor inquiries
• Monitor and reconcile goods received, not invoiced report
• Filing
• Other duties as assigned
