Calling all aquatic ambassadors! We have a mission to teach kids how to swim and be safer, in and around the water, while making their experience GOLDEN! Working for Goldfish Swim School Yonkers will allow you to provide children and families with necessary life skills to combat the ever-growing drowning statistics. Whether you are in the pool leading instruction for our swimmers or warmly greeting our members in our tropical lobby as a front desk representative, you are making an impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
• Evaluates students’ progress and completes required documentation in a timely manner
• Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
• Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
• Assists with setting up the pool prior to lessons and cleaning up after lessons, including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
• Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours

Job Requirements and Skills:.

• Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider is a plus!
• Must pass background examinations (included with training).
• Ability to work with children
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Must pass background examinations (included with training)
• Instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus
• High School Diploma/GED required, Some College preferred
• Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications are obtainable by employees in the future, and are rewarded with additional compensation upon completion 
• For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides training at no cost to the employee while they undergo their paid training
• Certification courses in our facility, which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.
