- Perform research and develop solutions to computer software and computer hardware problems.
- Research, design, and develop new optimization algorithms and techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of Meta’s platforms.
- Design and implement large-scale distributed software systems to serve large numbers of complex requests simultaneously and without failure.
- Utilize technical research background, train new ranking models, and run experiments.
- Create tools for migrating large bodies of user data across systems for new products, scalability efforts, and development of new core infrastructure.
- Use machine learning, statistics, or other data techniques to build algorithms.
- Suggest, collect, and synthesize system requirements from stakeholders and create effective feature roadmaps.
- Analyze and resolve computer challenges from a system engineering standpoint.
- Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field and two years of work experience in job offered or computer-related occupation
- Requires two years of experience in the following:
- 1. Identify and measure the success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics
- 2. Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product and drive roadmaps through insights and recommendations
- 3. Partner with cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions
- 4. Build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partner
- 5. Convince and influence partners using clear insights and recommendations
- 6. Proficiency in data querying languages (SQL), and mastery of statistical analytics tool/mathematical software (RStudio, Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
- 7. Data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, BigQuery), version control tools (GitHub, GitLab), command line interfaces (Bash, Python), and business intelligence tools including Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Access, R, or SPSS
- 8. Understanding of data science best practices/methodologies, relational database management concepts, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse concepts and reporting techniques
- 9. Working with cross-functional teams (such as IT and internal customers) to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions
- 10. Articulate complex topics and communicate insights effectively to and work directly with end users to ensure results meet their needs
- 11. Develop actionable recommendations based on data insights and present clear, concise reporting on concurrent projects and issues, AND
- 12. Collaborate extensively across teams, including product management, engineering, and other stakeholders
