  • Maintain local partnerships with therapists, community partners, and mental health organizations.
  • Participate weekly as an advocate in Menlo’s comprehensive Advocacy programming.
  • May teach or co-teach a 9th grade seminar class on adolescent wellness and balance.
  • Serve as a Club (co)advisor in one or more of Menlo’s clubs/affinity groups.

Required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience include but are not limited to:

  • 3-5 years of prior school counseling experience at the high school level or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Experience with individual and group counseling, educational programming, and crisis management.
  • Knowledge and experience providing culturally responsive treatment and the desire to meaningfully improve upon the experience of historically underserved students in independent school contexts.
  • Genuine love of high school-age children and a desire to work with all types of learners.
  • Being a positive and contributing member to our campus community as a whole, inside and outside of the counseling office.
  • Extensive knowledge of ethical and legal considerations related to counseling practices.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and oral communication skills and proficiency in communicating and engaging effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
