DIRECTOR OF RETAIL OPERATIONS

• Lead staff in the operation and management of stores
• Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance and recognition
• Effectively manage and support the career development process of staff and ensure training programs reflect and meet the proper employee development guidelines
• Plan store layouts, seasonal stock plans, merchandising needs, visual presentation, floor moves, and sale of fast / slow movers
• Oversee the efficient operation of a distribution center, manage inventory flow, logistics, and staff to ensure timely delivery of products to stores while optimizing cost,  productivity, and compliance with Inventory Control standards
• Promote a customer-focused approach to meeting the customers’ objectives
• Practice effective cost control procedures for all operating, maintenance, and supply costs
• Review Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and other retail and company reports and make changes based on analysis
• Supervise store employees and activities including labor scheduling
• Ensure proper merchandising execution by store management and participate in store activities to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction
• Review floor standards, visual merchandising, customer service standards, and sale techniques
• Assist in managing labor coverage needs based on analysis of current and projected sales
• Coordinate and communicate Retail special events and advertising promotions
• Effectively communicate with property and executives, employees and Shared Services, including the Buying Office, Accounting and Administration
• Support and assist the Senior Management in all facets of business
• Train and supervise store management, distribution center employees, and other store associates in all store activities, policies, and procedures
• Effectively manage and support the career development process of staff
• Maintain strict confidentiality of company and Retail information and operations
• Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
