About the role
Summary/Objective:
The Manager, Player Communications is responsible for quality control and information accuracy of football content and communications to players, legends, clubs and internal League staff. This role also supports multiple departments by approving content for football accuracy. Additionally, this role will assist in the data and reporting for the Player Operations department.
Responsibilities:
- Management and oversight of third-party communications platform developer on Players Community website and app
- Review and ensure consistent messaging and up-to-date content appears on all football community platforms and communications (for example: Players Community website and app and community newsletters)
- Create and manage communications plans for players and Legends in collaboration with internal NFL departments
- Stay up-to-date with player stories and successes to help amplify further and support with resources available through the Player Operations department and NFL
- Manage Business Network LinkedIn page and other communications to Legends with third party vendor
- Execute weekly Way to Play award for NFL, High School, and FLAG
- Select, edit, and disseminate plays to Way to Play award panels
- Work with NFL Media to deliver copy and footage of weekly winners
- Work with Senior Manager on the management, development and programming of technology systems related to players and programming for internal and external databases – attend weekly meetings with stakeholders
- Assist with analysis of player data and feedback to identify trends, themes and patterns among Legends population and create communications to share findings to drive strategy.
- Review of commercial vignettes and enhancements featuring players/game play
- Review of entertainment programming featuring players/game play
Required Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of proven work experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency in all Microsoft applications
Other Key Attributes / Characteristics:
- Must have strong understanding of game, rules, players, coaches, NFL history, and other relevant personnel
- Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – including editing skills
- Proficiency in all Microsoft applications
- Experience with content management system a plus
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Creative, self-motivated
- Effective interpersonal skills that enable one to communicate and work across the organization and outside parties
- Maintain autonomy on select projects and integrate internal parties where necessary

- 20% of the time, and as needed related to NFL calendar events
Expected Hours of Work:
- NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week
- This position may require work on select weekends, evenings, and holidays
