Background 

At Axis New Business Audio Products, we develop audio products for security, such as horn-, ceiling- and cabinet- speakers driven by Power over Ethernet (PoE). All our audio products have a built-in microphone that allows for remote health monitoring of the speaker driver. Today there is no solution to perform this health monitoring test without a built-in microphone.  

 

Goal 

The goal of the thesis is to investigate how a health monitoring test could be performed without the microphone. Is there a simpler, and/or more effective way of doing this test? Can more functions be added? Are there advantages to using either the current or proposed method depending on speaker type (e.g., horn, cabinet)?

Educational background 

Master’s student in Electrical engineering, Engineering physics, Acoustics engineering or similar.
