The Role:

Within a primary health care framework, the Home Help Personal Carer will:

• Function effectively as a member of the health care team concerned with the care of an individual and their family unit within the community setting.
• Provide domestic assistance to the client within their own home.

Home Care Services:

Home Care Services provides personal care and domestic assistance to people with chronic health conditions and frail aged clients throughout Northern Tasmania. This position provides care in the George Town municipality and works closely with the administrative and management team in Launceston. The position is based at the George Town District Hospital and works collaboratively with staff at the site.

The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Additionally, it provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 42 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $58,184 to 59,580 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

• Current Driver’s Licence

Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
