What will you be doing?

• Supporting Pythian’s customer adoption of Google Cloud services, like Google Compute Engine, Resource Manager, Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Security Command Center and many more. 
• Resolve the most complex of customer issues (escalating to Google directly when necessary) working with our customers and their teams to support and guide issues/escalations to resolution.
• Providing technical guidance and managing timelines, milestones, migration goals, and business transformation strategies.
• GCP consumption reporting using BigQuery, Google Sheets and LookerStudio, providing supplemental billing reporting monthly etc. 
• Help customers understand the opportunities for cloud optimisation, rightsizing, automation and their cost saving abilities. 
• Conduct regular touch-points with customers to review their cloud strategy and provide updates on best practices and provide Google Cloud product updates.
• Attend quarterly business reviews and executive sessions to better understand business and technical needs. 
• Plan for customer events and launches, partnering with Support, Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering to ensure customer success during critical moments. 
• Work with Pythian and Google sales teams to identify opportunities to partner with customers and Google to expand customer use of GCP and/or offer Pythian-led infrastructure, data and application development projects.

What do we need from you?

• This is a “wish list” and there will be plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and contribute to the Team and Customers needs and grow with Pythian. While we realize you might not have everything to be the successful candidate for the Post Sales Engineer - Google Cloud job you will likely have skills such as;
• Strong experience in a customer-facing role, interfacing with stakeholders, driving customer technical cloud implementations or cloud transformation programs.
• Significant experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred with experience in other public hyper-scale cloud providers, especially AWS and Azure, is a huge plus.
• Experience supporting customers in one or more of the following: cloud operations (launch/capacity planning, product release management), technical support, escalation management.
• Experience using IaC and DevOps tooling.
• Cloud FinOps experience would be great!
• Certifications such as Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Google Certified Professional Data Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional will be a major plus!
