Role Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is seeking a Director to lead a regional set of data center projects as the Project Executive (PE) reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Engineering and Construction, and ultimately the Chief Data Center Officer. This is a strategic and technical leader that will oversee the success of the projects from conception (post site origination) to handover to facilities operations and be fully responsible for the architecture, engineering, offsite construction and procurement, construction delivery and commissioning delivery.
The Project Executive will be responsible for building the execution plan of each project and the whole program under their purview and then monitoring, pivoting and assuring the performance and ultimate delivery to the plan in compliance with the commercial requirements of the projects, including all SLAs.
The PE will work with functional manager to initially build and then guide the Rowan and partner team to a successful outcome. In addition, the PE’s scope includes a specific focus on assuring a safe worksite, delivering to the project budget and schedule, delivering quality requirements, working with the community and ultimately interfacing with the customer to ensure Rowan is meeting or exceeding the customers’ expectations.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% to project sites.
Location: Denver, CO (hybrid in-office role)
Compensation: $185-$215K (Offers Bonus)
Essential Responsibilities
Interface with the safety Team and be a leader of the safety culture at the sites
Communicate with upper management and work on developing strategic goals and objectives
Create a strategic plan to achieve agreed-upon strategic goals and objectives
Oversee the organization’s fiscal operating and capital budget and expenses
Ensure and guide the creation of a project plan, including work breakdown structure (WBS)
Oversee project planning, organizing and supervising project team
Review project documentation
Ensure the scheduling team is effectively tracking project progress and production rates to identify issues very early and develop corrective actions
See around corners and identify risks in real time
Coordinate with clients to ensure satisfaction and expectations
Follow performance metrics
Respond to approvals and notifications
Supervise project team through the project’s life cycle
Communicate with stakeholders
Build client and site specific vendor relationships
Education, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related technical experience
15+ years of experience with large industrial projects that exceed 1.0 billion on average
10+ years’ experience with large campus data center development for hyperscale companies within north America
Project executive (or equivalent) for multiple turnkey data center projects that exceed 100MW
Detailed experience with large scale tenant fit out projects for hyperscale customers.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and industry peers
Proven success in leading multidisciplinary integration strategies for large-scale or hyperscale projects
Demonstrated experience with modular construction and off-site fabrication methodologies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization
Track record of innovation and continuous improvement in technical delivery
Demonstrated CX experience with large chiller plants, CDUs, technical chilled water loops, fan walls and heat rejection equipment
