PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3, Quality in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Identify test scope for different software projects and releases and conduct Quality Assurance testing of multiple projects working with different teams in parallel. Define and implement software test strategy, document test plans and test cases to ensure product quality and obtain sign off from corresponding product manager/business stakeholders. Perform automated testing by executing test scripts using automated testing tools. Identify, collect and create the software test data as per test requirements and execute test plans and test scripts for each release. Analyze incidents and follow-up with business and end users to ensure defect tracking and triage at user acceptance, pilot testing and product level with development team. Build performance efficient, highly scalable, configurable, and available software applications and systems. Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications. Design, develop, and test high throughput back-end software systems. Develop object-oriented software and design, code, and test complex software features. Develop software code and lead code review sessions. Segment and design technical system layers to support componentized and layered software application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time critical environment. Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks. Develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to software development goals and principles. Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

Job Description:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation (e.g. Software Developer”).

Additional Job Description:

Base Salary: $165,000-204,600 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
