Job Summary
We are looking for a Product Operations Lead to be the central hub for tracking, reporting, and communicating the progress of our PC products and their associated software throughout the entire Product Life Cycle (PLC). This includes monitoring and reporting on the interactions between our internal teams (Product Management, Industrial Design, Engineering), and our external ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) partners. You will ensure transparency and alignment across the organization, from ideation to end-of-life. You will work closely with Product Management, Industrial Design, Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, our ODM partners, and the Category team (our key sales partners) to provide accurate and timely updates on product status, milestones, and any schedule changes, especially as they relate to ODM interactions and dependencies.
A successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and possess a deep understanding of both hardware and software development within the PC industry. You must excel at creating and maintaining reporting systems, analyzing data to identify trends and potential issues, and proactively communicating information to stakeholders, particularly regarding the status and effectiveness of our engagements with ODMs. Fluency in Mandarin is highly desired due to the nature of interactions with ODMs.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive system for tracking the progress of all PC hardware and software products throughout the entire PLC, with a specific focus on the interactions and dependencies between internal teams (Product Management, Industrial Design, Engineering) and ODMs.
Generate regular reports and dashboards that provide a clear and concise view of product status, milestones, risks, and dependencies at each stage of the PLC, highlighting the nature and outcomes of ODM interactions.
Proactively communicate product updates, schedule changes, and provide insights on ODM-related activities to all relevant stakeholders, including Industrial Design, Product Management, Engineering, and the Category team.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships and communication channels with internal teams, particularly Product Management, Industrial Design, and Engineering, to effectively monitor and understand their interactions with ODMs.
Analyze data related to ODM interactions, such as communication logs, meeting minutes, development progress reports, and issue trackers, to identify trends, potential bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in collaboration.
Collaborate with Product Management, Industrial Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to gather accurate and timely information on product status, manufacturing schedules, and ODM-related risks or issues.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the manufacturing process for PCs, including typical ODM processes, key milestones, dependencies, and potential points of delay or miscommunication.
Anticipate and proactively address potential delays or issues that could impact product schedules, particularly those stemming from interactions with ODMs, and communicate these effectively to stakeholders.
Facilitate communication and alignment between different internal teams involved in the PLC, ensuring everyone is informed about the status of ODM engagements and their impact on project timelines.
Create and deliver presentations to executive leadership and other stakeholders on product status and PLC performance, including insights into the effectiveness of ODM interactions and their impact on the overall product lifecycle.
Manage and maintain product development tools like Jira, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of information, and that all interactions and milestones related to ODMs are properly documented.
Work with various internal stakeholders to ensure they follow the established processes and cadence for an effective product development life cycle, particularly regarding documentation and communication related to ODM interactions.
Continuously improve the tracking, reporting, and communication processes related to the PLC, with a focus on optimizing the way internal teams interact with and gather information from ODMs.
Qualifications
Four-year college degree or Graduate Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience demonstrating key skillsets.
