What the job involves:
 

JLL, an international real estate management company, is seeking an Data Engineer Intern to join our JLL Technologies Team.  We are seeking candidates that are self-starters to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment that can join our Enterprise Data team. We are looking for a candidate that is responsible for designing and developing of data solutions that are strategic for the business using the latest technologies Azure Databricks, Python, PySpark, SparkSQL, Azure functions, Delta Lake, Azure DevOps CI/CD.

As a Summer Intern in Data Engineering at JLL, you will:

• Plan, design, develop, and monitor complex data integration activities for project delivery and daily operations.

• Use PySpark and Spark SQL to extract, manipulate, and transform data from various sources for analysis and modeling.

• Build and optimize ETL workflows using Azure Databricks and PySpark, focusing on efficiency, validation, error handling, and performance.

• Integrate data from multiple sources, creating unified views for analysis and reporting.

• Perform various levels of testing, including unit, integration, regression, and assist with user acceptance testing.

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and consult on documentation for accurate data interpretation.

• Identify automation opportunities and optimize data engineering processes using PySpark, Azure Databricks, and Azure Functions.

• Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and solution maintainability.

• Implement data security best practices, ensuring data privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. ​

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience or enthusiast data developer using Python, PySpark, Spark Sql, ETL knowledge, SQL Server, ETL Concepts

• Pursuing degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a quantitative discipline in Science, Business, or Social Science. 

• Thorough knowledge in Azure Cloud Platform, Cloud Storage, Databricks, Python, PySpark.

• Able to think logically, organize work flows efficiently, and solve problems independently.

• Capability to self-learn new software applications and programming languages.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.

• Excellent technical, analytical and organizational skills.
