Find your new career path. Join the MSP.These positions are driven by the development and deployment of the new eApplications suite of products used by the members of the Michigan State Police (MSP). The eApplications suite of products consist of Incident (formerly known as eAICS), electronic Crash Reporting (eCrash), electronic Citation (eCitation), and electronic Daily Activity Report (eDaily) which is scheduled to go-live in February 2027. The new eApps programs are being rebuilt and modernized for the first time in over 15 years. These positions will allow the eApplications Unit to provide 24/7 support to our users and assist with administrative tasks. Hiring and establishing these positions early will allow them to learn both programs and have a better understanding when the user explains how things used to work to how they work now prior to go-live.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.

Experience
Departmental Technician 7
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service.
Departmental Technician 8
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.
Departmental Technician E9
One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.
Qualifications
Departmental Technician 7
Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Departmental Technician 8
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Departmental Technician E9
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.
