Make a Real Impact as a SENDCO Tutor

Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SENDCO to provide personalised, 1:1 support in Maths, English and Science for a Key Stage 3 student. This in-person role in Hackney offers the chance to work closely with a student, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

• Hours: Up to 25 hours per week
• Day(s): Monday - Friday
• Time(s): During school hours (9am - 4pm)
• Subject and Level: Maths, English and Science (KS3)
• Start date: Immediate start

What You'll Do

• Deliver up to 25 hours of tutoring per week, with sessions split across the school day.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of the student.
• Provide targeted support for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD, leveraging your extensive experience in SEN education.
• Oversee and collaborate with additional tutors who may deliver some hours, ensuring consistent and high-quality support.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who has:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A proven track record of working with students with autism and ADHD.
• Prior experience as a SENDCO or similar leadership role in SEN education.
• Strong organisational skills to manage planning, overseeing, and supporting additional tutors.
• An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs.
• Expertise in the KS3 curriculum for English and Science and KS4 for Maths.
• Experience in creating and maintaining Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
