SUMMARY

The overall purpose for this position is to provide support, advocacy, outreach, and education to primarily engage pregnant and postpartum women enrolled in St. Lawrence Health System’s M-WRAP program with their recovery from opioid use disorder. The Certified Recovery Peer Advocate will work as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and in conjunction with the patient will develop a patient centered Recovery Plan to help initiate and sustain an individual in their recovery from substance use or addiction.

Gouverneur Hospital is certified for 25 beds and services include inpatient detox, substance use disorder rehabilitation, emergency care, imaging and EKG’s, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.

DEPARTMENT: Food Services

SCHEDULE: Variable

ATTRIBUTES

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

  • Preferred: 1 year of similar food service experience in institutional setting preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this classification include preparing, serving and delivering food to the units for patients. This position is also responsible for the preparing and serving of food for the facility cafeteria for visitors and staff.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in preparing food in a timely manner to meet the time frames for meal periods.

  • Assist in preparing meals following established menus using approved recipe files.

  • Prepares food that is visually appealing to patients, visitors and staff.

  • Follows the proper procedures and protocols for safe food handling.

  • Follows safety practices when operating equipment.

  • Identifies reports and follows up on issues that affect the nutrition department and the facility as it pertains to the environmental safety of self and others.

  • Assist with special catering events as required.

  • Follows National food safety procedures and protocols.

  • Participates in facility wide QAPI programs.

  • Assist in secretarial support in regards to cash control, data entry, and patient tray tickets.

  • Follows facility policies and procedures and completes annual mandates in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$18.27 - $27.67

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
