Summary
Install, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair automated machinery and computer-controlled mechanical systems in production equipment such as but not limited to PLC, Network, VFD’s, screens, etc.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair machine electrical and electronic related problems.
- Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
- Perform functional & performance test on equipment a daily/monthly basis and ensure it is functioning properly.
- Operate a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions.
- Check and monitor equipment condition and perform corresponding actions or plans to prevent equipment breakdown.
- Maintain and repair motors and other electrical systems or units.
- Reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) and increase MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Assist in calibration and setup of vision inspection systems, light and leak tester and other testing devices that directly affect quality and reliability of products.
- Electrical installation, testing, repair and electrical systems for a variety of purposes including communication system.
- Ensure fire alarms & emergency electrical systems are operational.
- Upgrade modification and installation of industrial automation equipment.
- Provide electrical and troubleshooting training to production personnel to improve their skills and reduce occurrence of machine downtime.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems, including performing internal audits as required.
- Responsible for electrical equipment and work in LV Room (LV - Low Voltage), switchboards, electrical panels, and plant power distribution.
- Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with all Health & Safety regulations, rules, procedures and policies especially LOTO.
- Comply with GMPs.
- They also test, operate, or maintain automated & robotic equipment at worksites.
- Be familiar with various types of voltages 12v 24, 120v 220v, 480v AC/DC.
- Install repair or replace parts & components in various automated machinery.
- Read & interpret manuals, drawing, schematics for automated machinery.
- Understand hydraulics, pneumatics & machine water systems, Glue & Adhesive systems.
· Perform upgrades, replacement or installation for all controls equipment (PLC’s processors, cards, VFD’s, Panel views, etc.)
· Control the programs and parameters that can be loaded to the equipment.
· Perform Preventive and predictive activities to control equipment.
· Perform equipment calibrations.
· Support on control or electrical troubleshooting to Maintenance Mechanics.
· Dismantles, repairs, and re-assembles electrical motors, relays, timers, and all allied electrical equipment.
· Possess working knowledge of hydraulic systems, air systems, and be able to read semi-complex diagrams and troubleshoot working systems.
· Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing (including all necessary connections), controls, and grounding as directed.
Qualifications:
- General knowledge and experience with chemical process systems including but not limited to pumps, valves, piping, control devices, gauges, and regulators is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot large industrial processing equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems required.
- Must be able to work safely and have knowledge of LOTO.
- Experience working with 480, 240 and 110v power.
- Mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic experience
- Arc Flash experience preferred.
- AC and DC circuit knowledge
- Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
- Ability to maintain demeanor and performance through any situation.
- Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints, use simple shop math, and possess knowledge of company, local, state, and federal electrical codes.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot under high pressure.
- Must have mechanical knowledge in bearing assemblies, hydraulics, pneumatics and all types
