About the role

The Role

 

This position will be responsible for the review of accounts and management reporting for the portfolio of assets and themanagement company. This role will report to the Senior Finance Manager, US, for the US Commercial Office.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Review of financial statement prepared by outsourced service providers (GAAP) and supporting schedules foraccuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly IFRS financial statement for group consolidation (prior IFRS preferred but not required; on-jobtraining/mentoring will be provided)
  • Ensure timely month-end closing and preparation of monthly management reporting, monthly bank reconciliationand annual audit schedules.
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliation, ensure all inter-company transactions are properly recorded.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis reports comparing actuals to budget and prior year, as well as necessarycommentary to explain variances as well as monthly flux analysis (MoM income statement analysis).
  • Handling of all tax payment processing matters (such as corporate tax and any other applicable taxes) includingpreparation of tax computation or working closely with the tax consultant and tax manager on tax computation and filings and attending to tax queries from the tax consultant or tax authority.
  • Prepare audited financial statements in US GAAP, and liaise with auditors to ensure information is provided accurately and timely
  • Quarterly lender, investor and REIT compliance reporting
  • Assist with budgeting & forecasting.
  • Record monthly journal entries, including amortization of prepaid expenses and necessary accrued expenses.
  • Review monthly depreciation of fixed assets and Straight-line rent.

Job Requirements

 

  • Degree in Accountancy and/or an Advanced Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5-7 years of property accounting experience required.
  • Well versed in US GAAP, IFRS knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience in MRI/SAP preferred.
  • Hands-on with good eyes for details, able to communicate effectively to various parties and work independently ina fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual with high level of initiative.
  • The role involves frequent liaison with various parties such as onshore and HQ finance team, inter-departmentsuch as asset management team, external consultants, auditors, hence good verbal and written communicationskills are required and ability to multi-task
  • Candidates with Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualifications will have an added advantage.
