About the role

Overview

As a Business Intelligence Administrator at C Spire, you will support the development of cutting edge data warehouse and data pipeline solutions. You will be developing data pipelines, managing the data warehouse infrastructure (including access, grants, database upgrades, etc.), assisting in data mining and modeling for the data warehouse. You will support our various customers by providing reliable, scalable, and performant data pipelines to ensure timely data delivery for reporting, dashboarding, and insights. You will utilize SQL skills to write and assist others to gather the needed information from the data warehouse. In addition, this position requires the candidate to provide upper-tier functions including troubleshooting, performance tuning, upgrades and systems management in production and test environments.

  • Possess or demonstrate ability to develop An ownership mentality, behavior and accountabilityextensive knowledge of Company business processes and technical environment. This includes all environments, software tools, business policies, management utilities and procedures. Develop detailed understanding of company database and data warehouse designs.
  • Attend project meetings and work with others to gather and analyze requirements for data mining, reporting and predictive analytics projects. Design and implement database table structures to meet these requirements. Document, maintain and communicate analytics data timeline.
  • Develop processes to extract data from source systems and develop code to transform and load data into required warehouse formats.
  • Develop and maintain online documentation of warehouse design, data flows, workflows and other processes and diagrams.
  • Perform the installation, configuration and upgrade of data warehouse and server software.
  • Serve as interface with other IT personnel, data analysts from other departments and vendors to facilitate problem solving and provide quality systems through database design, tuning, troubleshooting, and scrubbing of system data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED: 

    Business Intelligence Administrator II 

    • Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience in an IT related field.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
    • Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment.
    • Experience in Information Technology including Data Engineering experience expected.
    • At least one year of coding experience in python or other object-oriented programming required.
    • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems and data modeling (logical and physical) expected.

    PREFERRED: 

    • Experience in Information Technology including Data Engineering experience expected.
    • Structured Query Language (SQL) required, Oracle SQL and Vertica SQL preferred.
    • Experience in data mining and data pipelines strongly desired.
    • Experience providing data support for predictive analytics projects preferred.
    • Python experience preferred.

    REQUIRED:

    Business Intelligence Administrator III

    • Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience in an IT related field.
    • Experience in Information Technology including Data Engineering experience required.
    • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems and data modeling (logical and physical) required.
    • Structured Query Language (SQL) required.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
    • Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment.
    • Minimum of three years coding experience in python or other object-oriented programming required.
