Senior Systems Engineer

IST is seeking a motivated self-starter for a Senior Systems Engineer in our company. The Senior Support Engineer will report into the Engineering team and perform a variety of service, support and implementation tasks as assigned. General duties include, but are not limited to; system commissioning, system support, product specification and test and checkout for enterprise accounts. Position also includes training of additional resources to support enterprise accounts.

Attention to detail is a must to ensure all work is accurate and timely. Anyone performing in this role must have exceptional communication, computer and organizational skills and be able to balance numerous tasks at one time.

Requirements

• Work to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Provide remote support and commissioning services for enterprise accounts. Examples include but are not limited to the following.

• Software and firmware upgrades.
• Windows patching and updates, as needed.
• Software support agreement licensing updates.
• System monitoring and health checks.
• System programming/commissioning and final project closeout activities.
• Research and notify teams of the impact of security vulnerabilities for supported products.
  • Vulnerability mitigation, where needed.
• Serve as an escalation point for field engineers and technicians supporting enterprise accounts.
• New system implementation.
• Internal and external training as required.
• Provide onsite support, as needed with varying degree of travel ranging from 25-75% depending on current projects. All travel expenses will be covered to include per diem.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience deploying and supporting electronic access control and video surveillance systems from varying manufacturers. Genetec, Software House, Gallagher, Milestone, Lenel, etc. Minimum one key access control and video product line.
• · In depth experience with Windows operating systems. · Hand-on experience with virtualized environments (HyperV or VMWare) · Experience with Microsoft SQL. · Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people and situations. · Strong leadership skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). · Extremely organized and focused. · Excellent communication skills both oral and written. · Propensity for multi-tasking · Deadline driven.
