Job Description:

  • The Infection Control Nurse functions as a nurse leader to implement, manage, and coordinate the Infection Surveillance, Prevention, and Control program to meet The Joint Commission, national, state, and local health care requirements.
  • Performs chart abstraction and data analysis for specific patient populations that qualify for review in infection prevention initiatives.
  • Duties include, but not limited to, data collection, quality review of data, and communication of data, reports, and information that improve infection prevention performance and enhance outcomes to physicians, staff, various regulatory and accrediting agencies, administration, and other appropriate parties.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree
  • Current RN Licensure or work permit in Kentucky
  • APIC Training course in Infection Prevention and Control (or equivalent completed within 18 months)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing
