As an Automation Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team with a real focus on testing and QA, to help deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
 

Job responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure software quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize testing requirements and achieve thorough test coverage.
  • Perform manual, automated and regression testing, track issues, and verify bug fixes, to ensure software stability and reliability.
  • Design and implement test automation frameworks to streamline testing processes.
  • Analyze and report test results, track defects, and improve testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrate ability to contribute to design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience in automated testing of APIs and UI testing using RestAssured, Selenium or similar technology. 
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies. Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and test execution
  • Good knowledge of programming languages and tools to write test scripts, such as: Java, JavaScript, React, Cucumber, Cypress, Playwright
  • Attention to detail and ability to meticulously document test results and defects in tracking tools, such as Jira
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Knowledge of database concepts and SQL for data validation and verification
  • Experience with manual, automated testing techniques and tools and experience in API testing using JMeter or Blazemeter
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD), such as Jenkins, Maven, Gradle

 

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Exposure to Spring Boot and Microservices 
  • Experience with Observability or logging tools e.g. Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, log4j, CloudWatch, ELK
  • Understanding of Behavior Driven Development / Test Driven Development
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
  • Experience with Accessibility Testing (ADA Testing Web)
  • Playwright, Selenium, or similar UI Automation Experience
  • Exposure to testing of Micro services based systems
