The Role
The Pressroom Production Planner will be responsible for the developing and coordinating the daily production plan for the Progressive Press area. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills to interpret press capacities/availability compared to shipping requirements. This position requires strong understanding of the National and Local UAW Agreements. Candidates must exercise independent judgment within the framework of the Global Manufacturing System with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Analyze daily shipping requirements and develop the production plan for a three shift operation
- Monitor daily progress to the production plan and adjust as needed
- Communicate and escalate issues/concerns
- Launch readiness
- Coordinate T-events with die engineering
- Manage Launch Wall
- Ensure jobs are production ready by timelines
- Coordinate both maintenance and die work/repairs with respective groups
- Manage die home line allocations to minimize costs
- Conduct required audits – Layered, WPO, SOTs
- GMS - monitor performance and ensure standards are met
- Support production Group Leaders and hourly teams
- 7000 account champion
- Manage TIP
- Drive improvements in everything we do
- Cover the Area Manager role/duties when needed
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5 years of experience on production scheduling
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience managing a production workforce
- Strong interpersonal skills, experience managing conflict and decision making
- Strong ability to lead people and address performance concerns
- Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to navigate a high speed, high volume production area
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Work, Excel, etc)
- Self starter

- Bachelor's Degree
- Progressive Press experience
- Stamping experience
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
- High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity and be self-directed
- Experience collaborating across multiple functions within a manufacturing environment
