Position Overview
This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; Ashburn, VA or Remote.
Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Senior Analyst - Indirect, Tax, NA for a highly visible and cross-functional role. This position will lead transaction tax calculations, review, and compliance for new site development, construction projects, and operational sites. The right candidate will have strong expertise with Excel, including the ability to build financial models and use analysis to make recommendations that support acquisitions and other strategic decisions. Key elements of the role include managing exemptions and direct pay permits, reviewing taxes on construction pay applications, and sales and use tax compliance in several states. This position requires collaboration with the New Site Development, Construction, Operations, Accounting, and Finance teams. Communication with tax advisors and government authorities will be necessary to keep pace with Vantage’s expansion goals and compliance or audit requirements. The ideal candidate will be an autonomous self-starter who can produce results without constant direction and who has a professional-growth mindset, willing to bring forth ideas that can benefit Vantage.
Essential Job Functions
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, gross receipts filings, and annual exemption certificate reporting.
Retrieve details of assets and expenditures from the financial accounting system to assess U.S. transaction tax implications.
File and maintain direct pay permits and resale/exemption certificates.
Support reverse audits by gathering data and assisting tax advisors and internal personnel with capturing sales tax refund opportunities.
Respond to state tax notices and audit requests.
Financial Modeling and Analysis:
Model potential transactions to assist New Site Development teams with projected tax impacts of opportunities.
Journal Entries and Documentation:
Prepare journal entries related to sales and use tax payments.
Maintain thorough records and documentation for all tax-related activities.
Research and Monitoring:
Research and monitor the tax landscape of jurisdictions in which Vantage operates.
Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate effectively with tax advisors and government authorities to ensure compliance with tax regulations and audit requirements.
Collaborate with New Site Development, Construction, Operations, Accounting, and Finance teams to provide tax-related insights and support.
Additional Duties

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field.
CMI, CCIP or CPA or work towards designation, is necessary.
