Position Summary
- Responsible for implementing, coordinating and monitoring system wide Injury Prevention and Safe Patient Handling Programs.
Principal Accountabilities

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in safety, kinesiology, exercise science or other healthcare related field preferred
Licenses and Certification
- Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist preferred
- OSHA Certification preferred
Experience and Skills
- Safety & Training Experience: 3 years
Physical Activities
- Intermittent hand manipulation required
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 lbs.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Designs, implements and evaluates Injury Prevention and Safe Patient Handling Programs
- Plans, implements and evaluates Safe Patient Handling and Ergonomic orientation activities
- Provides annual Safe Patient Handling and Ergonomic education & training
- Assists in development of post offer physical function testing
- Provides ergonomic assessments and appropriate recommendations.
- Ensures employee compliance with CDC and OSHA regulation regarding respiratory protection
- Assists Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor with case management/navigation services to injured employees
- Assists Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor investigate, monitor and analyze injuries and trends, as well as methods to promote and protect employee safety
- Assists Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor maintaining records regarding all occupational injuries and exposures as required by federal and state regulations
- Provides recommendations for loss prevention strategies and safety awareness programs
- Provides information, education and support to management and Human Resources regarding employee safety issues effecting employee job performance
- Plays critical role in leading committee’s
Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
