Job Description Summary:

The Director, Retail Finance is a business partner for the Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club sales team.  This position is responsible for trade spend management, revenue/volume forecasting, and financial reporting. This position reports to the Group Finance Director and partners with Sales, RGM, Bottlers, Marketing, and Governance team members. The director is the steward of the end-to-end cycle of revenue, forecasting & planning activities and supporting systems, striving to institutionalize and continuously improve these processes.

The director is responsible for fully understanding and explaining the forecast in support of delivering the Customer based P&L. This role is accountable for the management of trade spend via checkbook tools. As part of the role, the director leads the design, implementation, change management, organizational adoption, and use of optimal processes and supporting tools and solutions.

This position manages multiple systems including: Anaplan/Apollo, Matrix, MARS, CPACT, and the CPA reporting tool. The position is responsible for ensuring a high level of forecast accuracy is delivered.


Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club teams Anaplan/Apollo volume and revenue forecast

  • Responsible for implementing routines to ensure accurate volume and revenue forecasts in collaboration with Sales and RGM

  • Responsible for the management, review and reporting of weekly financial forecasts (revenue and volume forecasts) including comprehensive variance identification in forecast versus actuals, plan, prior year, and prior forecast

  • Responsible for identifying risk and opportunities to the forecast and assisting with generating ideas to solve variances to plan

  • Management and stewarding of the CPACT approval process for the Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club teams.

  • Responsible for the management of trade spend within authorized limits

  • Responsible for implementing checkbook reporting routines for stewardship with The Coca-Cola Company and the bottling system

  • Review and monitor the OPEX spend of the Wal-Mart team within approved limits.

Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS required in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

  • CPA, MBA, or other graduate degree a plus

Related Work Experience:

  • 8+ years of financial, accounting, or related experience required

  • 5+ years as a proven effective team and/or project leader

  • Forecasting and business planning experience required

  • Experience in RGM, Sales, financial and business analysis a plus

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Effectively communicate, collaborate, and build, relationships at all organizational levels

  • Working knowledge of Retail Link a plus

Pay Range:

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
