Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit.  

We're looking for hardworking, self-motivated, and flexible team players to help support the Dining and Catering Department's mission of delivering top-notch, quality service to our residents. The Dishwasher position is responsible for washing and sanitizing the dishes, cookware, food carts, and food preparation equipment. Additionally, this position will help maintain sanitary conditions throughout the kitchen and work area by ensuring that all walls and floors are clean, and trash is emptied on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate has experience in a long-term care environment and a desire to work with the elderly. Exceptional customer service skills and a positive, cheerful demeanor are required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a proper supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware to stock the dining areas and set tables
• Ensures a proper supply of clean pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are available for kitchen staff
• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
• Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
• Helps with general cleaning duties in the kitchen, such as cleaning walls/floors and emptying trash
• Maintains a positive, cheerful attitude at all times
• Attends in-service classes and staff meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned
