Director - Security and Derivatives Senior Group Manager - Tampa/Jersey City

The Director - Security and Derivatives Senior Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to process orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Determine and implement the strategic approach for the function

• Develop and implement new approaches that solve complex issues affecting the business and partnership with other business units to facilitate their success

• Review and analyze complex settlement productivity data, and present, implement and recommend solutions to improve the settlement cycle to organization and senior management

• Manage multiple high priority projects, support internal and external corporate clients, and oversee results, budget, planning and policy formulation

• Maintain detailed understanding of the business and apply industry and market knowledge to drive improvements within the functional area, including leading a successful risk control environment

• Articulate complex recommendations, negotiating with senior leaders and building credibility and trust across regions

• Advocate for mobility, diversity, training, compliance, and risk & control initiatives

• Develop partnerships with Technology, Compliance Risk, Finance, HR and key internal stakeholders

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

• Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience

• Industry / Previous Experience – International, Markets, or Investment Banking experience. Preference towards employees who have worked in a Markets Operations role in payments/cash management/settlement function.

• Technical Skills / Knowledge – Cash Management Product knowledge (Cross product exposure including FX, Cash Securities, and OTC)

• Technology / Program experience – Data analytics, business information systems, project management, product management.

• Soft Skills - Communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.

• Advanced level experience in a related role with extensive experience in business, functional and people management preferred

• In-depth understanding of opportunities that exist within Financial Services and significant experience in Corporate Banking

• Demonstrated success dealing with senior and executive management

• Proven ability to manage various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environment

• Effective project management and negotiation skills

• Consistently demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication

• Nice To Have Skills and Qualifications

• Complementary skills –FINRA Series 3, 7, 99, etc.

• Desirable experience – Project Management, BIS/MIS, Data Governance

• Experience in management with Banking and Financial Institutions preferred

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

• Master’s degree preferred
