Position Overview
The Department of Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) is seeking to hire a Senior Compliance Analyst in OIG’s Central Bureau for its office located in Springfield, IL. The Senior Compliance Analyst will travel to conduct reviews and site visits related to addressing the root causes of abuse and neglect of individuals with disabilities at state operated facilities and community agencies. After collecting evidence and conducting interviews, the Senior Compliance Analyst will prepare a professional, well-written report that summarizes their findings and makes recommendations for corrective action. Given the sensitive nature of OIG’s work, OIG staff must maintain records carefully and take confidentiality seriously. OIG’s mission is to ensure that individuals with disabilities are treated with respect, dignity, and care.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as the Senior Compliance Analyst.
- Assesses and analyzes data related to state facility and provider agency operations, performance, and processes.
- Writes detailed, professional reports.
- Conducts risk assessments of OIG, facility, and division operations and processes.
- Assists Bureau staff with implementation of in-service training courses for the OIG staff and conducts trainings on OIG process for external parties.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of professional experience writing complex, analytical reports.
- Three (3) years of professional experience assessing and analyzing data.
- Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing critical thinking skills while working on multiple projects.
- Three (3) years of professional experience communicating in verbal or written form with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Two (2) years of professional experience ensuring compliance with State law, administrative law, program directives, best practices,
