Pay:  $39.43/hr + $4.57/hr (Health & Wellness Benefit)

SA-TECH is seeking to hire an experienced Maintenance Manager at the NTC at Fort Irwin, CA with expertise in military and commercial vehicle maintenance operations. Candidates should be highly organized, adaptive, and ready to thrive in a high operational work environment. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.


Specific duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Oversees daily maintenance operations including supervision of mechanics working on generators, tactical and commercial vehicles.
  • Responsible for scheduling services and ensuring documentation of all completed tasks.
  • Serves as the senior maintenance technician and provides expertise to solve complex problems, leading by example.
  • Manages maintenance facility, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintains a high state of readiness through continuous preventative maintenance before, during and after operations.
  • Ensures work is safe by enforcing applicable safety standards.
  • Enforces company policies and ensures employee compliance.
  • Research and sources hard to find maintenance parts.
  • Coordinates specialty support with vendors.
  • Manages and trains maintenance personnel.
  • Monitors and reports equipment status.

  Work Conditions

  • Work will be both inside and outside, throughout the year in an austere environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Work requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and lifting.
  • Work involves occasionally lifting objects weighing between 50-100 pounds as part of a two-person team. 
  • Shift work is required and hours may change based on mission requirements.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, to support the customer/mission.
  • You must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Five+ (5+) years of maintenance supervisor/ maintenance lead/ maintenance planner experience. 
  • Three+ (3+) years of maintenance of RF maintenance and repair experience.
  • Ten (10+) years of electrical & mechanical system maintenance and repair experience. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. 
  • Radar operation experience required.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain a Class B license.
  • Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
