We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Environmental Advisor in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management, Rockies Business Unit based in Platteville, CO. 

The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for supporting and implementing environmental programs and obligations for a local operating area and/or Business Unit. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Implements environmental programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local reporting requirements that are applicable to oil & gas operations. 

• Interprets environmental regulations and formulates compliance strategies consistent with Oxy policy. 

• Represent Oxy with the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) remediation staff  

• Provides assistance, training, and communication to business unit personnel and management to aid in achieving compliance goals. 

• Implements Oxy safety programs while overseeing remediation crews and environmental consultants on Oxy locations 

• Conduct field reviews, mentor field contractors for remediation procedures and safe work practices 

• Ensures all environmental permits, licenses, variances, etc., necessary for construction and operation of facilities are obtained and properly maintained. 

• Assists personnel in understanding and complying with applicable environmental laws, rules and regulations. 

• Coordinates compliance inspections and responses to governmental inquiries. 

• Provides necessary data and reports to regulatory agencies in a complete and timely manner. 

• Maintains environmental records per regulatory, corporate, and legal requirements. 

• Participates in advocacy for legislative and regulatory change.
