Quality Inspector Lead - Clean Side 1st Shift

The Lead Quality Inspector with limited supervision, leads and gives direction to employees engaged in quality assurance, inspection and test functions associated with manufacturing power transformers. Train employees in work instructions, skills, procedures, methods, and techniques to correctly and safely perform all job tasks. Performs direct work demonstrating the ability to perform any of the various operations within the quality department.

SUMMARY: 

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Perform any of the Quality Inspector duties and functions as needed.
• Coordinate on-the-job training to assure all employees are properly trained prior to performing work or job; coordinate cross-training and job rotation schedules to enhance employee knowledge while promoting safety and quality.
• Conduct audits as needed by the Quality department (e.g., QMS, process audits, product audits, new product launches, etc.).
• Participate in writing, developing and improving check-sheets and inspection/audit work instructions that are consistent with QMS.
• Support problem solving and failure investigations through inspections, audits and data collection.
• Participate in lean Continual Improvement events for Quality assurance, Inspection and Test areas.
• Research, evaluate and implement new or improved inspection methods for quality control; including automation.
• Ensure calibration and nonconforming product programs remain in compliance with quality procedures and ISO 9001 requirements
• Support chemical analysis of transformer oil and other products as necessary
• Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, motorized scissors lifts and work platforms as required.
• Comply with all safety rules guidelines and safe work practices.
• Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO’s policy and/or procedures.
• Know Hyosung HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
