This leader will be a key partner in developing and implementing strategies to systematically scale the payroll operations efficiently while maintaining quality, accuracy, internal controls and compliance. This is a high impact position within the finance organization that requires a strong ability to develop outstanding relationships with employees and senior partners across multiple business entities and functions including People Operations, legal, tax, accounting, FP&A, etc. This role will report to the Senior Director of Accounting.
What you’ll be doing:
Responsible for domestic and international payroll. Design and implement workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately, timely and in compliance with international, federal and local, state, country specific laws and regulations.
Supervise payroll processing of a global workforce of 3,000+ employees in various countries
Manage partnership with the payroll administrators to optimize system functionality and exploit opportunities for process automation.
Develop and implement a strategic plan to scale and optimize the global payroll administration that can support the headcount growth each year and in new geo territories. Coordinate regional efforts towards global process standardization while allowing local flexibility when required.
Monitor the latest payroll and wage laws and regulations to maintain tax and benefits compliance around deductions, withholdings, garnishments, classifications, employee mobility tracking, etc.
Ensure quarterly and annual filings and reports are reviewed, approved and filed timely and accurately (941s, W2s, 1042s, etc.)
Participate in designing and implementing internal controls and documentation in accordance with SOX
Actively engage with cross functional leadership to stay ahead of the business objectives, priorities and strategies to enable collaborative and supportive relationships as well as provide valuable services to each other.
Lead or assist on special tasks and projects as needed (e.g. external/statutory/compliance audits and filings, entity set up, system implementation, etc.).
What you must have:
10+ years of progressive experience being responsible for the processing of multi-state and multi-country payrolls for large exempt and non-exempt workforce
Experience transforming a payroll function to increase automation, scalability and cost effectiveness
Deep knowledge and experience working with payroll vendors and platform technologies
Strong project management experience including the ability to run project plans, dependencies, critical path activities and milestones
Highly analytical, skills for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and demands.
Excels in hyper-growth environments; versatile, capable of leading multiple projects and tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and various levels of management as well as external contacts.
Reliable, with a strong work ethic.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
Experience specific to using ADP and Workday
IT and systems sophistication – ability to gather/develop system needs and translate into functional specifications
The salary range for this position is $155,600 - 228,700. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
