About the Role:
The Central Sterile/Pack Room is the heart of our hospital’s surgical and patient care support. As a Central Sterile Tech, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining sterile conditions, ensuring the highest level of care for our veterinary specialty surgery patients. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams across the hospital, contributing to a smooth, efficient, and safe environment for our surgical and medical care areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with department supervisors to ensure an adequate supply of sterilized surgical instruments and equipment
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical supplies for distribution
- Set up and disinfect surgical suites
- Operate steam and ETO sterilizers
- Maintain and inspect equipment and instruments
- Manage inventory and monitor expiration dates on sterile supplies
- Conduct routine autoclave testing and report results
- Disinfect linens for operating rooms
- Perform scheduled cleaning tasks to maintain strict surgical cleanliness standards
- Support hospital teams by providing clean, sterile equipment as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Four 9-hour shifts
- Rotating Weekend Shift
- $21 - $26 pending skills assessment leveling
- Experience with surgical instrumentation and sterilization is preferred, but not required.
- CRCST/CBSPD certification or experience in a veterinary specialty surgical setting is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
- You possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills aimed at establishing long lasting, positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
- You are able to work well independently and in a team environment, leading by example and holding oneself accountable for quality medicine and customer service.
- You exhibit flexibility, dependability, responsibility, and possesses excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital Culture and genuinely love working with people who share that same value
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.
