POSITION SUMMARY: In a High Reliability Organization, Infection Preventionist Lead is responsible for guiding the team of Infection Preventionists in monitoring and implementing Infection Surveillance, Prevention and Control. Responsible for facilitation of the local infection prevention and control program under the direction of the Director of Quality.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Clinical laboratory sciences, Epidemiology, Public Health, or other health-related field required Associate degree nurses may also be considered
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: CBIC CIC (Certification in Infection Control) upon hire N/A
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of all aspects of a healthcare facility, including microbiology, surgical, medical, maternal child, pediatric, geriatric and physical plant
- Excellent time management and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently required
- Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years of healthcare or public health experience preferred or 3 years of experience as Infection Preventionists preferred

Provides direct supervision to:
-Responsible to: Director, Quality Management
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen: Occasionally works irregular hours. Exposure to infectious diseases and subject to varying unpredictably situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to handle emergency/crisis situations, prolonged standing/walking. Has knowledge of and uses good body mechanics. Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and/or assists normal adult-weight transfer patients or equipment. Hearing and visual acuity within normal limits. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required.
