About the role
Purpose:
Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products based on internal customer needs
Day Shift: Mon - Thur 5:00AM - 3:30PM
Starting Pay is $20.50 - 21.00/hour in Brighton (Only)
Responsibilities:
- Ability to create a safe work area following all safety rules & procedures; focuses on safety of self
- Support and participate in 5S activities in area
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
- Sort and store material in a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis
- Fill requisition, work order, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves; convey orders to packing station or shipping department
- Personal desire / value to produce quality work; focus inventory accuracy of your own material movements
- Mark materials with identifying information
- Open bales, crates, and other containers
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
- Learn process area according to training plan; adaptable to change assignments
- Accept and adhere to process changes; making improvement ideas to help department
- Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
- Use computer to enter records
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
- Contribute to team to meet production goals
- Work constructively with fellow team members in a diverse environment
- Drive vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments
- Prepare parcels for mailing
- Maintain inventory records
- Safely expedite the transport of hazardous materials and waste, from accumulation sites within strict regulation requirements
- Inspect, weigh, load, document, transport of hazardous materials and waste through shipping and receiving documents, bill of lading, and manifests
- Comply with state and federal regulations for handling, storage, disposal, transport etc. of hazardous materials and waste
- And all other duties as assigned
Essential Functions:
- Able to lift and move 30 lbs.
- Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions
