Permanent Substitute School Counselor - High School - First Semester

The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Permanent Substitute School Counselor at Mt. Lebanon High School for the First Semester of the 2026-2027 School Year. 

This is a full-time, on-site, single semester, temporary (substitute) assignment from August 12, 2026 through January 14, 2026, a 99 day assignment.

In order to be eligible to apply, the candidate must hold an active Specialist Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department in School Counseling that is inclusive of grades 9-12.

Applicants with pending certifications through the PA Department of Education may be considered with college/university placeholder letter stating completion of a PDE approved school counselor preparation program and evidence of passing scores on certification examinations.

A permanent substitute assignment is a long term substitute assignment of a full semester or more. This position will be eligible for degree level daily rate for step 1 of the teachers salary schedule, with rates starting at $297 per day depending upon credential.  

The position is also eligible for paid time off in the form of sick and personal days and individual health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to be eligible for employment, the following clearances must be furnished and approved for hire at time of job offer:

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
• FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)

The following additional trainings and forms are required upon hire:

• Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting
• Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24)
• School Personnel Health Record (Physical with TB Test)
• Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
