The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.</p> </div></div><p>Vast is looking for a <strong>CNC Mill Machinist </strong>on our <strong>Second Shift</strong>, reporting to the<strong> Supervisor of Machining, </strong>to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.</p> <p>This will be a <strong>full-time</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>non-exempt</strong> position located in our&nbsp;<strong>Long Beach</strong>&nbsp;location.&nbsp;</p> <p>As a machinist, you will manufacture hardware from billet material and additively manufactured hardware utilizing state of the art CNC machinery.</p> <p><strong>Shift hours:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Second Shift: 2:30PM-10:00PM</li> </ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Set up and operate multi-axis CNC Mills/Lathes</li> <li>Read and interpret setup sheets and tool lists</li> <li>Ability to check parts that are running according to the in-process inspection plan, including optical comparator, caliper, and micrometers</li> <li>Understand speeds and feeds</li> <li>Communicate wi
