Job Description

Remote : This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of (Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Pontiac, Milford or Mountain View), you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

The Software & Services Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory safety standards for the Software & Services Organization. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of the product development lifecycle, and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.

The Software & Services Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory safety standards for the Software & Services Organization. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of the product development lifecycle, and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key contact within the Software & Services organization for safety standards, regulations, and compliance summaries

  • Interface with cross-functional teams to develop program specific testing plans to ensure regulatory requirements are tested, documentation meets requirements, and compliance summaries are completed to program timelines

  • Work cross functionally with testing groups and Software & Services domains to create evaluation reports and judgement letters to confirm compliance and regulatory requirements are met

  • Collaborate with the Global Product Safety, Systems and Certification (GPSSC)

  •  on new regulatory proposals and ensure new programs are in compliance to standards

  • Support the development of program specific regulatory checklists (RCL) in collaboration with Software & Services with the GPSSC

  • Lead the Software & Services team to assess program software changes and study the impact to overall regulatory readiness

Required Skills and Experience

  • Technical bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of software/engineering experience

  • Working knowledge of Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (MVSS) processes

  • Working knowledge of GxDP and Program Timing

  • Experience in program management with complex vehicle programs

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and lead by indirect leadership

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

  • Proficient time management and organizational skills 

  • Familiarity with areas of Calibration, Validation, & Systems Engineering

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master of Science in Engineering and/or Master of Business Administration or equivalent experience

  • Experience working on Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (MVSS)

  • Experience in areas of Calibration, Validation, & Systems Engineering

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $93,400 - $149,200 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
