This team effectively detect, respond and auto-remediates advanced threats targeting Elsevier information and infrastructure assets, enterprise
users and customers.
About the Role
You will work between our internal security engineering, incident response and external suppliers to identify, adopt and integrate security monitoring. You will oversee the incident response automation and supporting staff to effectively detect, respond and auto-remediate advanced threats
Responsibilities
- Analyzing/validating the requirements, defining the access rules, scripting the changes, and providing troubleshooting support related to any access issues.
- Driving compliance, identify compliance initiatives, and author and promote appropriate security policies
- Leading, analyzing, and reviewing security events for anomalous activity. Collaborate with respective peer groups to take appropriate action to safeguard company information assets against current and
foreseen threats. - Leading the exploration of practical security solutions to address emerging threats and compliance requirements, including design and implementation of recommended solutions.
- Developing and implement security programs: manage and execute project deliverables. Communicate to affected stakeholders including departments within the company; develop program
procedures including guidelines and flow diagrams to be implemented. Develop tools or metrics that allow for the measurement of successful program implementation. - Carrying out team management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. You will also be appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
- Possess proficiency in SOAR. Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR). In-depth understanding of compliance and governance initiatives.
- Have the ability to analyze security events for anomalous activity; ability to identify emerging security threats. Ability to develop and implement security programs. Have the ability to monitor security systems for threats; ability to conduct vulnerability assessments, threat analysis, and reporting.
- Possess extensive skills in setting, communicating, implementing, and achieving business objectives and goals through the direct management of others.
- Possess extensive problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively. Troubleshoot/diagnose complex project
issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management
decision-making.
