Research and Innovation Hubs Intern 

 

Location: This is a hybrid opportunity located in Chicago, IL

 

Duration: 3 months: Potential to convert to full time after 3 months.

Now is the time to bring your expertise to a Intern role for a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator where success and fulfillment go hand in hand. You will be at the forefront of helping businesses transform their cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and analytics to ensure they are future-ready.

 

This internship provides a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and technically inclined individual to gain valuable hands-on experience within a dynamic and challenging lab-based IT Data Center and Hybrid-Cloud environment. The intern will work closely with experienced IT professionals, assisting with various tasks related to data center operations, including infrastructure support, system administration, automation, and documentation.

As a Intern, you will get to:

• Assist with daily data center operations, including monitoring system performance, troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
• Learn and assist with basic system administration tasks, such as user account management, software installations, and basic network configurations.
• Physical equipment installation and cabling of servers, network switches, storage devices etc.
• Perform physical asset inventory and control of devices in the Data Centers (Research and Innovation Hubs).

We are looking for a Intern with:

• Prior experience with Windows and/or Linux/Unix operating systems. Linux experience is a strong plus.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs/subnetting).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix).
