In the commodity analytics world, effective decision making and fast reaction times to the market are crucial, however access to trusted information and analyses needed to drive such decisions is difficult and time consuming. Currently, we are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science/Analysis team in Athens. If you are interested in working at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and business analytics, then we would love to hear from you.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What you will do in this role:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work with product team to understand the client challenges (within areas such as forecasting future market trends) and identify possible Data Science solutions </li> <li>Convert business objectives into a concrete data science &amp; engineering project, breaking it into value-adding manageable chunks, and drive them to completion with minimal guidance</li> <li>Collaborate with data analysis, engineering and product development teams to provide solutions, optimizations, and improvements to our product and data strategies</li> <li>Conduct mathematical/statistical research to propose algorithms, proofs-of-concept and full solutions for effective decision making</li> <li>Present modeling outcomes and valuable information in a clear and coherent way to audiences with varying backgrounds and skillsets</li> <li>Act as a trusted source of knowledge and expertise willing to influence, share and help your colleagues</li> <li>Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and algorithm accuracy.</li> <li>Research and identify valuable data sources, pre-process, automate collection processes and assess the effectiveness &amp; accuracy for a wide variety of commodities-related information.</li> <li>Analyze large amounts of information from available datasets to discover trends and patterns.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>What you bring to the team:</strong></p><ul> <li>Strong background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related scientific field. Master’s or/and Ph.D degree preferred</li> <li>5+ years of post-academic data science experience</li> <li>Strong skills in applied statistics, time series analysis, nonlinear optimization, algorithms, computational complexity and machine learning techniques such as classification, clustering, and regression.</li> <li>Proven production ready programming knowledge in Python, with experience in bringing machine learning projects from prototype to production.
