<p><strong><span>The Opportunity:</span></strong></p>
<p><span>As a Senior Software Engineer - SDK Development, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our existing SDK, ensuring that it remains a powerful and user-friendly tool for developers interacting with the commercetools platform. You will be part of the </span>Developer Tooling team, <span>and join a group of experienced software engineers, working closely with support, product teams, and SDK users to </span>deliver a world class developer experience<span>.</span></p>
<p><span>Our engineers are part of vertical teams working closely with Product Managers and other software engineers. You will work within the respective domain and also contribute to the core of our product while engaging with our Open Source libraries where needed. </span></p>

<p><strong><span>Your Mission:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Work collaboratively with a high degree of autonomy in a group of international peers on a rapidly growing product using cutting-edge technologies</span></li>
<li><span>Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Java SDK and related observability, ensuring it is high-quality, user-friendly, and meet the needs of internal and external users</span></li>
<li><span>Collaborate closely with support, product, and engineering teams to gather feedback, address issues, and ensure the SDKs and related observability are aligned with the overall product roadmap</span></li>
<li><span>Engage with SDK users, providing support, gathering feedback, and supporting the existing developer community</span></li>
<li><span>Have the opportunity to contribute to some of our open-source projects, their documentation, and releases</span></li>
<li><span>Have dedicated time to experiment with new technologies and ideas (known as Exchange & Exploration time) and a professional development budget to support your growth</span></li>

<p><strong><span>What you need to succeed:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Strong proficiency in Java development with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles <br/></span></li>
<li><span>Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining SDKs or libraries</span></li>
<li><span>Experience working with REST and GraphQL APIs</span></li>
<li><span>Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills</span></li>
<li><span>Experience with Agile development methodologies</span></li>
<li><span>Experience with Git and version control best practices</span></li>
<li><span>Be able to speak English fluently to work in an international environment</span></li>
<li><span>Experience with different levels of testing (unit, integration, etc.)</span></li>
<li><span>Ability to bring your ideas and be proactive in proposing solutions and improvements to the codebase and high-level problems <br/></span></li>
<li><span>Ability to weigh trade-offs through discussions working within a cross-functional team<br/></span></li>
</ul>

<li><span>Experience with technologies like Docker and Kubernetes</span></li>
<li><span>Knowledge of different software design patterns</span></li>
<li><span>Experience with performance optimization and tuning</span></li>
